Shown below are the pics from our 2010 Montana hunting trip.  Notice I only got the Christmas trees this year.

October 18, 2010

Sorry for the lack of reports, but with the daily fishing conditions bouncing from one extreme to the other it was difficult to make any consistent reporting.  There was also a lot of what I would call bogus reporting by other entities, who were not even close to the river. Anyway I will start up my weekly reporting when I begin my steelhead season.  The Klamath season was what I would call strange this year.  Some days you got them and some days they would roll all around you and not bite, but the fish were there in decent numbers.  I am presently on my hunting vacation in Montana and will return the 1st of December.  Show below are a few of the pictures since spring salmon season till now.

June 3, 2010

The fishing on the Klamath River for Spring Chinook salmon is presently on hold due to the recent water releases from the dams on the Klamath river and also the recent rain storms over the last couple of days. The river has risen from a flow of 22,000 cubic feet per minute to over 40,000. It has also put quite a lot of color in the river as well, which will make it pretty un-fishable until the river stabilizes and starts to recede or the clarity improves. On Tuesday I fished a father and two small sons.  We had several short grabs or bites in the morning, but no solid hook ups until almost noon. Then both of the youngster landed salmon almost as big as they are. Pictures below.  Also now is the time to set your date either for spring/fall salmon as the fishing with continue through October and this will be a good year.

May 31, 2010

The salmon fishing on the Klamath River continues to be red hot for some and so so for others. On Sunday my people caught 3 salmon for 5 grabs and on Monday the two guys I had on board caught 5 salmon and one hatchery steelhead. See the pictures below.  I have a few days open over the next couple of week, so call and lets get you in to the best eating fish of the season.

May 28, 2010

The fishing seemed to slow a little today for most boats, not sure why maybe the big minus tide. The guys in my boat did alright landing 4 salmon out of 5 hookups. ( see pics below). I still have a couple day open next week.

May 27, 2010

The last several day of Spring Chinook fishing has been off the charts.  On Tuesday my two clients had 11 grabs and land four salmon. We even had a double, with two native steelhead on, which we released.  On Wednesday, my same two clients went 4 for 6 and today the two clients I had on board landed 5 for 7 grabs. (See the pictures below.) I have opening this weekend and next week also - Now is the time to call.

The Spring Salmon run on the Klamath River is off to a good start. Over the last few days the hand full of boats that are on the river are seeing  on average one to two fish a day with some finding more as well as some zeros mixed in.  Today I was on the river with my wife and we caught 3 out of 5 hook-ups.  The fish are averaging approximately 18 to 20 lbs.  Pictured below are a couple of the ones we caught today.  I have days open and available. I am also providing a complementary breakfast through most of June.

Jan. through March -2010

My website is finally back in my control after going through some website optimization, thus lack of new reports. More reports to come with the start of Spring Salmon in May.  My steelhead season was somewhat fair to good, depending on how the river was staging, due to all the high water this year.  Pictured below are some of the fish we caught this year, with several nice ones caught mainly on the Smith river this year. The steelhead season pretty much winds down this week and I look forward to catching some fresh spring salmon.  Now is the time to start reserving some dates for late May and June.
